At CrowdStrike we’re on a mission - to stop breaches. Our groundbreaking technology, services delivery, and intelligence gathering together with our innovations in machine learning and behavioral-based detection, allow our customers to not only defend themselves, but do so in a future-proof manner. We’ve earned numerous honors and top rankings for our technology, organization and people – clearly confirming our industry leadership and our special culture driving it. We also offer flexible work arrangements to help our people manage their personal and professional lives in a way that works for them. So if you’re ready to work on unrivaled technology where your desire to be part of a collaborative team is met with a laser-focused mission to stop breaches and protect people globally, let’s talk.

About the Role:

At CrowdStrike, the Benelux and Nordics organisations are hugely significant parts of the European business, with large and diverse teams supporting a significant customer base. From large international enterprises, central governments and the public sector, to reseller partners, system integrators, MSSPs and medium sized businesses, our team supports them all. Our Pre Sales Engineers provide the technical knowledge, experience and understanding to allow existing and new customers and partners to gain maximum value from our technology, from building world-class Security Operation Centres to acute post-breach response. The Pre Sales Manager leads this team, providing inspiration, guidance, training, development and assistance to drive the business forward.

You will be expected to build, develop and retain a strong team in a rapidly growing and evolving company. You’ll undoubtedly be required to recruit new team members to support the company growth, so you will need both a strong industry network and an excellent ability to work hand in hand with our recruitment team. However, you’ll also need to build from within, helping SEs in your team raise and refine their skills, implementing training programs and mentoring across the team.

Your partners will be the Regional Directors of Sales for Benelux and for the Nordics. You will need to be joined at the hip, planning and executing together on a shared vision. In region you’ll also be partnered with a number of Marketing, Channel and other leaders, each with their own needs. To succeed, you will need to have a set of open, transparent relationships, building on mutual trust with each of these functions.

Building wider relationships is also going to be key; Pre Sales can’t operate without the Post Sales team, so you will also be working with the Technical Account Management and Support Managers to ensure a great handover of existing accounts and ongoing management. You will need to have an open dialogue with your peers in our Reseller Partners, SIs, MSSPs, Store Partners and Technical Partners (3rd party vendors etc). Finally, you’ll provide input back to the Product Management, Product Marketing Management and CTO team on future product and service developments your team discovers in the field, especially competitive intelligence.

The technical, commercial, communication and negotiation skills needed to accomplish team  goals won’t always be provided by others. While you will spend a lot of time coaching, you will also need to directly involve yourself in the most complex and valuable opportunities. To do this well you will need to bring industry knowledge and experience and the ability and willingness to do the job of a Pre Sales Engineer from time to time. In short, sometimes you just roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

In addition, you will work alongside Marketing and have opportunities to present at industry conferences and marketing events, promoting the CrowdStrike brand and technology as well as your own capabilities.

The combination of Benulux and the Nordics creates a geographically wide region, so you can expect to travel from time to time once that becomes possible again, although we use video conferencing and cloud based solutions whenever we can.

Required Skills:

We are looking for someone who has led a team previously, either as a Manager or Team Leader; this isn’t a role you could jump into from an individual contributor position. You will have coached a team, developed them, recruited and dealt with enough performance challenges in the past to have built strong skills in these areas.

You need a strong understanding of the security marketplace, ideally with multiple vendors and solutions. It is not critical to be an endpoint security expert, but it would certainly help. Understanding SOC workflows, technology and challenges is key, alongside cloud computing, security, and technical architectures.

You should be a confident presenter, tactical and strategic planner and have excellent written and spoken English, as well as speaking at least one of the languages of the region at a native or fluent level. Speaking further major European languages is worth significant bonus points.

Lastly, you will have to have strong analytical and mathematical skills to model opportunities, build coverage models, work out territories and calculate commission plans.

Required Experience:

If you have experience in a vendor Pre Sales position, this will be excellent, but we are also open to candidates with relevant experience coming from SIs, MSSPs or channel partners.

We are not concerned how many years you have held the position, but what you did in your time. You should be prepared to talk about your experiences, draw from them and learn.
