About the Role
CrowdStrike is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to build, deploy and manage assets in a robust and reliable enterprise data management system to support the Data-driven decision-making organization. In this role, you will work as a core member of interdisciplinary teams to deliver data services using Cloud/On-Prem RDBMS, Data Warehouse Solution and Reporting platform to achieve enterprise-wide strategic objectives.
What You’ll Do
Develop integration to populate Corporate Snowflake environment using Matillion for ETL
Migrating on-premises corporate applications and related data to the cloud
Identifying best practices for cloud services monitoring and management and promoting these best practices across the corporation
Identifying and implementing cost-saving strategies to reduce ongoing cloud expenses
Maintain primarily cloud and limited on-prem database solutions (Snowflake, SQL, etc.)
Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems
Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
Monitors overall database usage and recommends hardware adjustments to ensure efficient system operation
Implement Snowflake standards and methodologies for DB security
Implement Snowflake user /query log analysis and alerts
Implement data encryption/decryption/masking policies to protect data
Implement/support automation for production deployment in Snowflake
DB and SQL performance tuning
Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of Snowflake or Other Cloud Database Administration
Snowflake Advanced certification and Snowpro core certification desirable
ETL experience required, Matillion experience preferred
Experience with multiple data formats: CSV, JSON, Avro, Parquet
Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, Redshift and MySQL
Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, Glue, RDS, Redshift
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences, experience working in Agile environment a plus
Advanced SQL Development (1 Year Preferred)
Data Warehousing Experience
Understanding of OLTP, OLAP, and BI.
